Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor by the age of six. For several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing as well as dancing, and also acting. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight straight auditions. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the film.
